About Mayur Virarkar MD

I am Dr. Mayur K. Virarkar, the Chief of Abdominal Radiology and an assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. I am an Abdominal and Chest fellowship-trained, CAQ Neuroradiologist and ABR-certified radiologist. Additionally, I am honored to serve as the Chair-Elect of the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR) Neuroendocrine Neoplasm Disease Focused Panel (DFP). My career is driven by a passion for advancing cancer research. I specialize in oncological imaging, utilizing modalities like Ultrasound, CT, PET/CT, and MRI, as well as cutting-edge techniques such as PET/MRI and Photoacoustic Imaging (PAI). My focus lies in enhancing diagnostic precision and developing non-invasive molecular imaging methods to enable early cancer detection, ultimately improving patient outcomes and expanding therapeutic possibilities.
